I've checked it now, but I'll only bring bad news.
Sadly it's not there anymore. It's actually a big building site now :(

Too bad. I was about to take some shots soon :cries:
Do you know any similar places in this region? I love abandoned places, especially with HDR :)

I am actually searching for some other places, too.
But these are the ones I know of:

There is a (very very) small company in Egelsbach (next to Erzhausen).
That's where these two older shots came from:

But that's really very small and not really very impressive...

And then there is this old factory in Frankfurt, Hoechst:

But there is some guy running along the place from time to time and throwing out photographers - though he didn't seem to be fully against photgraphy at this place and might be talked into allowing it. He mainly seemed to be watching out to insure nobody hurts himself there.

Next interesting spot is an old sauna club in Messel - today it's mostly used an illegal paintball area. That's where these pictures came from:

Near to this place is also an old rotten playground surrounded by some sort of swamp:

If you want to take pictures of broken and rotten trains, busses and stuff like that there is a small "metal-graveyard" in Arheilgen. It's locked behind a big fence, but there's usually a hole somewhere where you can get through (when it gets closed, there always seems to be a new one^^):

Then there is an old mansion in Sprendlingen - it would be THE perfect place! Looks like a typical "ghost house" from movies. But unfortunately it's sealed. All doors and windows are bricked up. There was a tiny little hole in the wall on the front door. Watching through it you can see typical old and decorated stairs and everything is full of this creepy ghost-house atmosphere. I so badly want to get in there :(

And recently I've heard from one of my pupils that there is a so-called ghost house in Dieburg somewhere in the woods. Though only the first floor remains (some satanistic fools got the place on fire once) it might be a good spot (I'm planning to go there soon).

That's all I've found so far in the area around Darmstadt.

Thanks a lot!
As soon as it gets a little warmer an I got some more time, I'll take a peek at those places, especially the one in Hoechst!

This place is, or maybe was, the rotting rest of the MIAG-factory in Ober-Ramstadt (near Frankfurt, Germany).

But I'm not sure, if there's anything left of it.

When we were there taking the photos we encountered a very friendly and hug-hunting watch-dog and a little later some sort of housekeeper.
He greeted us friendly and was very pleased that someone came and took some photos of the place because there had been plans for demolition and building apartements there.
I'll try to check it out, if this has already happened and let you know.
